Our Mission

To start from a position of promoting high standards of care and use the basic yard stick if it is not good enough for your mother or you, then it is not good enough for anyone.

Not a day goes by without horror stories hitting the national press of abuse or neglect on industrial proportions being perpetrated under our very noses by people who are highly paid to protect the most vulnerable in society or are as responsible for gross inaction and simply claiming the wages and or too weak and should not be in the management roles they slithered into. Please leave. We are at the tipping point in the industry where there will be that much litigation the state will have to privatise it. This will be the death of the NHS and health care for the poorest in society. The only way we can protect it is by high standards of customer service and care, not spending our days on endless reams of KPIs and Target performance sheets which only end up being distorted to suit a political aim.

Very sadly as I sit here typing away I am being told of a carer who was trying to do the correct thing being sent off on the sick for whistle blowing as the bullying carries on in Wigan hospital. These sorts of written portals may be the last voice of the staff. I am always amazed that we as a society have not yet learnt that a system which is run by bullies ends up having the most spectacular crashes, such as the Titanic. Am I only to deduce the bullying is institutional and part of covering up the bad performance figures.

On face value it seems like doom and gloom, however the vast majority of good carers lead the way and we try to help raise and keep the standards up. lots of bad care starts from the position of no training or poor training and how would you know the difference if you joined the industry years ago. Lots of staff still have not had a CRB check, everyone assumed they have and still and will always do so. Please do everybody the one favour in life always, always, always ask to see it. This goes for the customers, staff and management. Remember this is not dis-engendered, most carers are female so who is doing all the harming, or does the legal system still operate in the Victorian bubble of the little women and it is another day in fancy dress in court.
